"Welcome to My World: The Journey Behind LOOKS"
Hi there! I'm Lexi, the creative mind behind this unique, sustainable fashion brand. If you're interested in the behind-the-scenes of running a small business, my creation processes, and stories about sustainable fashion--you've come to the right place.
Let's start with a little about my journey to founding LOOKS. After completing my first year of university, I realized that I would soon have to make decisions on how to spend my time in the future. Facing frustration from the restrictions of a research institution forced me to evaluate what I was truly passionate about. It didn't take me long to reflect on my long-held passions for fashion, design, and authentic expression.
LOOKS started as a testament of my own bravery and step outside of my comfort zone. Beginning in the summer of 2022, I hesitantly uploaded my first two pieces to my Instagram. Receiving positive feedback and feeling empowered in the freedom of creating, I developed my sustainable business model with the goal of taking LOOKS more seriously. I knew that it was important for my pieces to not only look good, but have an ethical creation process and a positive message.
Since then, I have released over 30 completely one-of-a-kind clothing pieces including several custom requests. This summer, I launched the Enjoy Yourself Collection, a series of graphics intended to inspire wearers to live their best lives. What sets LOOKS apart from other brands is that every single piece is entirely unique. When clothing is created with care and intention, I believe that energy is passed on to the wearers and viewers of that piece.
The mission of LOOKS is simple: to embolden all people to showcase their true selves through clothing that they can feel good about, ethically and environmentally. By crafting unique and bold statement pieces, I hope to inspire a culture of confidence and bravery, where people feel empowered to chase their inward desires and make a positive impact on the world.
