LOOKS is a wearable art brand creating one-of-one upcycled garments while promoting mindful consumption. The textiles used are almost entirely secondhand, sourced from thrift shops, yard sales, family hand-me-downs, free piles on the side of the street, and more. LOOKS gives new life to these pre-loved materials, keeping them in use and out of landfills. Sewing, patchwork, visible mending, DIY printmaking, and alteration are just some of the techniques used to transform these materials. By repurposing what might otherwise be considered waste, LOOKS challenges the idea of what waste is and encourages consumers to think more critically about repair, reuse, and recycling through creativity.

LOOKS is grounded in a commitment to countering the fast fashion industry and its culture of overproduction and hyperconsumption. In a world of mass production, where many clothes increasingly look the same and are poorly made to be quickly replaced, LOOKS strives to offer something different.
